Upriser’s Glory – Goat Farm ππΏ
(In collaboration with KMI Infra projects)
A Smart, Profitable, and Sustainable Partnership
Land Investors purchase plots from KMI Infra Projects. Instead of leaving the land idle, investors have the option to lease their land to Upriserβs Glory Foundation (UGF). In return, UGF pays monthly rent to the investorsβcreating a steady income stream for them.
UGF, a registered and certified organization, utilizes the leased land for modern and sustainable farming projects. One of their flagship initiatives is the Goat Farming Project in Parigi, featuring over 500 Telangana Potla goatsβa superior local breed renowned for its rich, tender, and flavorful meat.
πΏ This innovative model ensures mutual benefit for all three parties:
-Investors enjoy regular monthly income.
-Upriserβs Glory Foundation gains land to expand its productive and ethical farming operations.
-KMI Infra Projects attracts more investors through this genius, winβwin concept.
π‘ Goat Farming at Upriserβs Glory Foundation :
πOrigin:
Native to Telanganaβs dry and semi-arid regions, especially around Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, and Rangareddy districts. The Potla goat evolved to survive heat, rough terrain, and limited grazing β truly a breed shaped by the land itself.
π Physical Features:
Medium to large body with strong legs, drooping ears, and short horns. Coat colors vary β black, brown, and white, often with mixed patches. The breedβs build is muscular and compact, ideal for meat production.
π₯ Milk & Meat Production:
While primarily reared for meat, Potla goats also produce small quantities of rich milk, often used for medicinal and household purposes. The meat is tender, flavorful, and high in demand across Telangana and Hyderabad markets β earning premium rates compared to other breeds.
π Breeding & Growth:
-Kidding rate: 1β2 kids per birth (twins are common)
-Gestation period: Around 150 days
Growth rate: 18β25 kg in 8β10 months under good feeding conditions
-Adaptability: High β thrives on open grazing, shrubs, and minimal fodder input
πͺ Strengths of the Potla Goat:
-Naturally disease-resistant and heat-tolerant
-Low maintenance and high survival rate
-Suitable for semi-intensive and free-range farming
-Quick market turnover and steady profitability
π₯© Nutritional Value of Goat Meat:
Potla goat meat is lean, high in iron, and lower in saturated fat compared to mutton from sheep. Itβs an excellent source of vitamin B12, zinc, and omega-3 β making it both healthy and energy-rich.
π’ Did You Know?
-A well-managed Potla goat unit can yield returns of 30β40% annually, thanks to its high reproductive rate and strong local market demand for pure Telangana Potla meat.
-Upriserβs Glory Foundationβs farm is not just about production β itβs about preservation and progress. It serves as a learning and demonstration center for farmers, youth, and women who wish to take up farming as a sustainable livelihood.
Through this model, the Foundation aims to promote eco-friendly, low-cost, and high-return rural farming systems that can empower communities while protecting biodiversity.
Upriser’s Glory – Poultry Farm π£π
(In collaboration with KMI Infra projects)
With the same partnership, At present UGF has also established a Poultry Farming Division focusing on Country Chicken (Desi Murgi) and Kadaknath Chicken β both prized for their high nutritional value, organic growth, and premium market demand.
πΏ This visionary model ensures mutual benefit for all three parties:
-Investors receive steady monthly income.
-Upriserβs Glory Foundation gets fertile land for ethical and productive poultry farming.
-KMI Infra Projects attracts more investors through this innovative and rewarding concept.
-Together, they form a sustainable cycle of Profit, Purpose, and Prosperity.
π‘ Poultry farming at Upriser's Glory Foundation :
Long before factory farms and commercial hybrids, native breeds defined the real Indian poultry story β hardy, self-sustaining, and full of flavor. Among them, Kadaknath and Aseel stand tallest, each carrying a legacy that blends tradition, science, and resilience.
Here, Kadaknath, Aseel, Vanaraja, Gramapriya, and Nicobari chickens grow in natural conditions β free-ranging under the open sky, nurtured with clean water, local grains, and care. Alongside, ducks thrive in shared water systems with the fish ponds, helping keep the water ecosystem clean and balanced, while goats graze around, completing the nutrient cycle of the land.
Kadaknath β The Black Diamond of India
- Origin:
Born in the tribal belt of Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, the Kadaknath is Indiaβs only black-feathered, black-meated bird β prized in Ayurveda and rural kitchens alike. - Egg & Breeding Capacity:
A healthy Kadaknath hen lays 90β120 eggs a year β fewer than commercial layers, but with eggs that command a premium for their nutrition and rarity. The hens begin laying by 6β7 months of age and continue steadily for 2β3 years. - Meat & Egg Quality:
Everything about Kadaknath is rich β not just the flavor, but the science. The meat is low in cholesterol, high in iron and protein, and naturally black due to melanin deposits. Its eggs, too, are known for their medicinal value β often sought for improving stamina and immunity. - Mothering Instinct & Chicks:
Kadaknath hens are protective and patient mothers, raising chicks with high survival rates even in rough conditions. They adapt well to free-range environments and can thrive with minimal inputs β a symbol of Indiaβs sustainable rural farming model.
Aseel β The Warrior Bird of India
- Origin:
From the coasts of Andhra and Tamil Nadu to the heartlands of Telangana, Aseel is the oldest known fighting and show breed of India β muscular, upright, and full of pride. The name βAseelβ itself means pure or original. - Egg & Breeding Capacity:
An Aseel hen lays about 70β100 eggs a year, often in two or three strong cycles. While not prolific layers, they are excellent breeders β roosters are known for their fertility and stamina, and the hens make fiercely dedicated mothers. - Meat & Egg Quality:
Aseel meat is dense, flavorful, and highly valued for its firmness β it doesnβt shrink in cooking like commercial broilers. Its eggs are smaller but protein-rich and favored for vitality. In rural fairs and traditional diets, Aseel continues to hold prestige. - Temperament & Chicks:
The chicks grow slower than hybrids but develop exceptional muscle tone. Though Aseel roosters are known for aggression, their protective instinct makes them a natural farm guardian.
Other Notable Indian Breeds include:
- Vanaraja: Developed by ICAR, this dual-purpose breed is strong, colorful, and ideal for semi-free-range systems. Lays around 150β180 eggs a year and grows fast for meat.
- Gramapriya: A true village layer, giving 220β250 eggs per year, known for its adaptability and good taste.
- Nicobari: From the Andaman Islands, this small, active bird lays 100β120 eggs a year with strong disease resistance.
- Chittagong (or Malay): Tall, long-legged birds, prized for their appearance and used in genetic improvement programs.
In an era ruled by commercial hybrids, native Indian chickens remain the unsung heroes of self-reliant agriculture. They resist diseases naturally, survive on local feed, and produce meat and eggs that are more flavorful and nutritious than any mass-produced counterpart. They are not just birds β they are living heritage, proof that Indiaβs traditional knowledge and biodiversity can still lead the way in sustainable farming.
π¦’Ducks β The Graceful Layers of Water
π Origin: Indian wetlands and riverine regions
Ducks are natureβs bridge between land and water β calm, resourceful, and highly productive. They thrive in ponds, rice fields, and shared water systems with fish, making them perfect for integrated farming.
- Egg Laying: 150β220 eggs per year, depending on breed
- Egg Quality: Large, rich, and packed with nutrients β duck eggs contain more protein, omega-3, and healthy fats than chicken eggs. Their thick shells allow longer storage.
- Meat: Tender, juicy, and aromatic β a delicacy in Indian and global cuisines
- Nature: Ducks are hardy, disease-resistant, and excellent for pest control, feeding on insects and snails around ponds.
Duck droppings naturally fertilize fish ponds, boosting plankton growth and improving fish yield β a perfect example of eco-balance.
π¦Quails β The Tiny Powerhouses
π Origin: Japan, now well adapted across India
Small in size but mighty in production, quails are the rising stars of modern poultry. They grow fast, eat little, and begin laying by just 6β7 weeks of age β ideal for compact or urban farms.
- Egg Laying: 250β300 eggs per year
- Egg Quality: Small but nutrient-dense; quail eggs are rich in iron, vitamin B12, and amino acids. Known to boost memory, stamina, and immunity.
- Meat: Soft, flavorful, and lean β often compared to wild game meat, yet lighter and healthier.
- Nature: Quails are quiet, adaptable, and require minimal space β a great choice for diversification and quick returns.
A quail can lay up to five times its body weight in eggs every year β making it one of the most efficient birds on Earth.
